Campus Life

Aside from attending class and doing homework, research has shown that students’ involvement and engagement with outside of the classroom programs, activities and events is a key factor to academic and social success while in college.  Specifically, students who get involved in life outside of the classroom routinely:

With all of the opportunities for leadership skill development, connecting with peers, and outside of the classroom learning, UNC provides students with lots of ways to get connected and enhance their college experience.

The UNC Calendar is the best place to find out about all of the different programs, activities and events taking place on the UNC campus or in the Greeley community.  This resource provides the ability to sort events by type, date, location etc.

Student Clubs & Organizations

In any given year, UNC has between 125 and 150 chartered student clubs and organizations.  These student run groups range from social, honors, cultural, religious or professional organizations.  Whether it be the UNC Chess Club, Club Hockey or the Hula Club, there are lots of opportunities to get involved.

Housing & Residential Education

On-campus living is worry-free living, and Housing & Residential Education works to put students at the center of the action.  By living on campus, students find themselves a short walk from classes, study spaces, and the Campus Recreation Center. Students who live on campus are also among the first to know about social events, sporting competitions, campus concerts and more.

Athletics

The UNC Bears are Division 1 NCAA athletes with 17 varsity sports competing in the Big Sky conference mostly (Baseball, Swimming and Diving are in the WAC, Wrestling in the WCC). Sports include Football, Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Track and Field, Women’s Soccer, Volleyball, Wrestling, and Softball.

Campus Recreation Center

The Campus Recreation Center is one of the most popular locales on campus, serving more than 250,000 student and faculty/staff visits annually. The Campus Recreation Center is a multi-purpose facility designed to meet the recreational and fitness needs of the UNC community and UNC students are automatically members of the Campus Recreation Center as part of the student fee package.

Club Sports

UNC’s student-led and student-funded Club Sports offer a structured environment to practice and playing the games students love both regionally and nationally while building friendships that will last a lifetime.

Intramural Sports

Intramural Sports offers students the opportunity to play organized sports in a recreational but competitive atmosphere, learn new sports skills, recreate in a social environment, and have fun with fellow friends and students.

The Mirror

The Mirror has served as the UNC Student Newspaper since 1919 and produces a print newspaper every Monday during the academic year as well as maintains a current Web page at uncmirror.com. The student-operated newspaper is advised by the non-profit Student Media Corporation and is printed by the Greeley Tribune. 

Student Activities

The UNC Student Activities Office houses lots of different ways for students to get involved in shaping their experience at UNC.  Whether students are elected to Student Government, plan campus-wide programs as part of the University Program Council, join a Social or Multicultural Fraternity or Sorority, explore identity with the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center or reconnect with campus through Off-Campus Life, the Student Activities Office provides lots of resources and opportunities to connect students to campus and to one another.

Student Advocacy

UNC has seven Cultural and Resource Centers which provide quality support services delivered in a personal and caring manner to promote the retention and academic success of all students from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and points of view.

Asian Pacific American Student Services

Asian Pacific American Student Services (APASS) supports the academic persistence and social development of Asian and Pacific American students and to promote the various Asian and Pacific Islander cultures throughout University of Northern Colorado.

César Chávez Cultural Center

The César Chávez Cultural Center is a safe place where Latino/Hispanic students receive positive care, support programs, and resources that strive to boost student access to resources that enhance their resolve to complete a degree at UNC.

Gender and Sexuality Resource Center 

The Gender and Sexuality Resource Center is a place that encourages, educates, and activates identity and inclusion all across the campus community through the Safe Zone training program, academic and social speakers panels, and dozens of traditional programs every year.

Marcus Garvey Cultural Center

The Marcus Garvey Cultural Center (MGCC) is a source of student support, educational development, and cultural exploration open to all students, with an emphasis on programs relevant to the African American community.

Native American Student services

The Native American Student Service Center (NASS) is a vibrant, involved and supportive source of academic support and social activities which serves as a bridge which embraces and encourages a supportive environment based on the traditions and cultures of all Native American people.

Center for Women's & Gender Equity

The Center for Women's and Gender Equity (WRC) is a student-centered environment with computer labs, lounges, and programing for students that covers ideas of social justice, gender issues, leadership, and feminism.

Veterans Services

Veterans Services at UNC  supports the military community on campus by providing a stand-alone space among a inclusive and supporting community.

Ticket Office

The UNC Ticket Office is the main location for purchasing tickets for all ticketed UNC activities, sports and events.  In addition to the Main Ticket Office located in the University Center, tickets may be purchased at the University Center Information Desk, the Frasier Hall Box Office or online at ei65.7672049.com/tickets.
